Is it too late?

Here is 5 reasons why it is never too late.

1. Your happiness comes before so many things that you think are important that really aren't.

2. Imagine a grandparent making a huge life chance to finally be happy, how cute would that be. As I said, never too late.

3. You are who you are. We're not always ready to make life changes but when you are, there should be nothing stopping you.

4. If you start now, in two weeks to time, you'll be two weeks better than you were before.

5. If you have an passion/interest persue it. If you're 16 and your think you're too late to start a hobby you are wrong. (Don't worry, I'm still learning this myself) because you only get one life and if you think you're too old, well your only getting older each day.

Comment! it would make my day, I promise you.

The first step to happiness is not relying on sympathy because a boy can only cry wolf so many times. It has occurred to me that you have to be in a deep enough level of pain for people to feel sympathy and this can often make people exaggerate their pain. The ideal solution is that as humanity we see the flaw in this and give me hugs more often but that is highly unlikely.

My scars don't hurt as much as hers,
That's why she and I will never be the same,
She will see both much more love and hurt than I ever will.

I must comfort myself,
Because my wounds are bandagable,
Even if the leave scars deeper than the wounds were.

Happiness stems for being happy with you lot in life. So do that. And if your not, change what you have.

Self help is a huge part of recovery, especially as far as mental health is concerned. It is easy for others to tell you that they love you but you have to tell yourself that you love you before you are going to get anywhere. The hardest part though is that that isn't as easy as it sounds. In my experience music and books and the wise words of others help but am I still waiting for the day that I hold myself in the extremely high regards my five year old self held myself in. Even then, when you think about it, I probably still doubted things about myself and so maybe it's an illusion that grew with time, or with my ever shrink self regards.

The one thing I read a while back that I am saving for a decades time is to eat ice cream naked. I'm aware of how stupid that sounds but when you think about, is there a better way to fully come to terms with your body image? I bet it's up there at least: eating food you know is bad for you and seeing your stomach bloat in the process and being fine with it.

I intended for this post to be longer but I do not know what to write and this is the only way I see BEDA 2 actually happening :)

How have I failed already!?

And so while on the focus of being late here is a poem that I found in the notes section of my phone that I think I wrote (it has been a while and I sort of remember writing it but also I cannot find it when googled):

I have come to the conclusion that the only possible way forward is to live for tomorrow, that is what my mind has wrapped its head around; but in reality all we have is now, so in short, I guess I'm still learning,

How have I failed already!?
Maybe the answer shouldn't be that I've have failed. While I may have failed to meet the targets in my head, those targets are often too far out of reach even for the best of people. Maybe instead I have simply been forced to work at a slightly different pace or in a slightly different direction.

Dear February

There's a certain beauty to February today.

I'm definitely one for summer, the heat and the happiness and the endless ice cream.

But I'm on a bus in a coat and spring's coming and I'm slightly too warm and I can't help but notice how beautiful "town" looks. Town shouldn't look beautiful, ever, but it's just so sunny and it's as if it's trying to prove its worth to me.

Maybe it's that my outlook on life is positive and that it hasn't been for a while. Maybe it's because I don't have anything planned for this afternoon and that hasn't happened in over a month.

I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's just that it reminds me of summer (oh the irony) but February, you seem nice today.

No longer the rain of January and not quite yet the flowers of May. Can you believe we're already an eighth into the year! Me neither!

And I feel as if maybe tonight I won't have to chase away the sadness before I drift to sleep in my bed which is already too hot in the evening and a heaven on the schools mornings (on the weekends I tend to wake up a couple of hours later, read and then dance around before dragging myself into the shower)

Disclosure: when I talked about being sad before it's not a sympathy call, it's just plain boring truth. The sad things in my life tend to happen in the evenings and lately I've made a policy to ensure I'm happy before I go to sleep as the worst thing is waking up happy and then remembering the trials of the night before.

I seem to have forgot how naturally blogging comes to me when on buses or in cafes in summer.

Also, how am I feeling this positive on a Monday: BRING ON THE WEEK :)

BLOGMAS DAY 6 - cinema films this year

I started this year with a post entitled 'The 100 films you need to see in 2014' or something like that and I thought it could only be right to include something film related in Blogmas.

So these are (I think all of) the films I've seen at the cinema this year:

( these aren't blurbs as you can get them anywhere but rather my opinion which tends to be a little harder to source, also negative things should be taken as constructive criticism and I full understand that someone might hate the films I love and love the films I hate)

The Book Thief (2013) Poster

The book thief
My judgment is clouded, as I've seen this twice and it's just not as good the second time but still a really great film and was obsessed with it when I read and first watched it. It manages to be funny and heart warming and yet taking about a serious topic and I love that.

The Fault in Our Stars (2014) Poster

The fault in our stars
Phenomenal. I love John Green and all of his books and the film did it justice and I think that it's enough said. I went to see this after school and it was only teachers and everyone clapped along and somehow that made it even better ifs that's possible.

The Maze Runner (2014) Poster

The maze runner
I think dystopia is currently being overdone with the hungers, divergent and the maze runner now all in full swing but my friend read and was dying to see it and I would described it as more of an action movie but saying that it was really well balanced because I don't like action films and I really loved this.

Interstellar (2014) Poster
The first sci-fi I've seen in a long time, the first two hours were full of amazing graphics to great plot jammed packed with action but for the hour after that it all lot a bit repetitive and long winded and it probably didn't help that we were willing it to end so we could catch the train home.

What We Did on Our Holiday (2014) Poster
Divergent (2014) Poster

What we did on our holiday
We were exactly a family comedy with a great cast but it was so much more than that. The plot and the emotions were both really intense, both happy and sad but always exciting.

I really loved this although it is very similar to hungers and I can't wait to see the rest. There were so many tense moments that you'll be on the end of your seat a lot.

The Imitation Game (2014) Poster

The imitation game
AMAZING! Definitely a more intellectual film and I guess not for everyone but personally I loved it. It was riveting, feature Benedict Cumberbatch ( need I say anymore to persuade you to watch it) and really puts the importance of gay rights into context ( obviously I will say more)

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 (2014) Poster

The hunger games- mocking jay (part 1)
Nothing happened and it didn't need to be split into town but it was still an amazing film with graphics, action, emotion and even SONG ( Jennifer Lawrence we congratulate you).

So these are the films I saw this year, what did you see and what did you love? Are the any I didn't mention that you thing I need to see urgently?

I hope your having a great December,

5 Healthy Snacks for on the go

Sorry it's a day late, I'm really trying to get back into blogging but blogging is just a hobby for me and I don't always have the time and I'm really trying to get blogmas ready :)

On with the post...

Lately I've had an addiction to healthy snacks, I mean they're more filling, tastier and more fun than chocolate. It's just me isn't it, oh well.

So I've been collecting the wrappers for about a month of some of the different healthy snacks I've tried and I want to share my opinions on them with you.

Go ahead! Crispy Slices
Not my favourite but thin wafer biscuits with different fillings that are great for snacking or while your working.

Urban Fruit
(Mango and strawberry)
Their claim: "We don't mess with mangoes. No sugars, no preservatives, nothing. All we do is gently bake the fruit so its easier to munch on the move." I tried describing it as mango jerky lol
I think the reason I love these SO much is that a) i convinced myself to like them when i feel for gimmick even though at first they're just well standard, and b) they're concentrated so the sugar is concentrated so they taste like sweets.

Kellog's Nutri-Grain Breakfast Bakes Raisin
Almost like a cake in terms of texture packed with Wheat, Oats and Raisins. I love these, they're really filling and one or the sweeter options.

Tesco's Sweet n' Crunchy Trail Mix
"A mix of sweetened cranberries, almonds, honey roasted peanuts, milk chocolate coated peanuts, white chocolate coated yoghurt flavour cornflakes and hazelnuts."
My problem with Trail Mix is that it's quite high in calories and so you can't eat much but my oh my is it nice. I love nuts, and dried fruit and they chocolate definitely doesn't go a miss so trail mix is a must have and this is just one of my favourites.

Eat Natural fruit & nut bars
They are cereals bar that taste amazing. Enough said. While most cereal bars are meh, these ones are actually really nice. There are half a dozen or so flavours, all with yoghurt or chocolate or something to bind together the nuts, cereal or fruit. I think what makes these nice is the flabour combinations with sound and taste great!

Yu! fruit chews - A miss
This is a snack that I don't like, it just isn't appealing to me. Its small pieces of concentrated fruit puree. The flavour is actually okay but I don't really like the concept; but do try it yourself, i'd hate to put you off and then you turn out to love it.

Let me know what you what to see, I feel like after my break, I'm losing my audience, saying that I'm going to keep blogging as it is also a sort of diary for myself.
